1. How to apply Charms, Rhinestones, Dried Flowers and Flat Shapes

 1. Apply a layer of top coat to your nail.

2. Using a cuticle pusher/orange stick or even a picker upper, dab the end either into the applied top coat on your nail gently or into a little dappen dish of water, this helps pick up rhinestones, gems, pearls etc, place your desired accessory on to your nail repeating the previous steps for each accessory you wish to place on your nail/s

3. Small charms, flat shapes and rhinestones, can be placed onto a wet layer of top coat, but large charms will have to be glued on, so you would have to wait for the first layer of top coat to dry fully, before placing a small drop of glue on the desired place on your nail and then placing the charm on top.

3. Finish with another 1-2 coats of top coat or nail art finishing sealer, to finish and seal your nail art accessories.

HANDY TIP

Rhinestones can be easily picked up and put in place with a damp tip of an orange stick/cuticle pusher.

2. Attaching nail dangles

Nail dangles simple to use and give instantly stunning results,

There are 2 ways to use them, either by the following method using a nail drill, which we sell either on its own or in the gold dangle set which come with a drill inside the pack.

1. Apply 1-2 coats of polish and allow drying time and then apply any decals or stickers required, finishing with a layer top coat and allow sufficient drying time.

2. Pierce a hole in the desired place on your nail, by twisting the drill from the underside of your nail. (Handy tip)

3. Twist open one of the rings supplied and hook on a dangle.

4. Hook the ring through the hole you have just created and twist the ring back to close.

Do not pierce hole too close to edge or tip of nail as this can cause your nail to split or crack.

Or you can use nail glue (only available to use with certain kits like Broadway's!) The following method can be used,

1. Apply 1-2 coats of polish and allow drying time and then apply any decals or stickers required, finishing with a layer top coat and allow to dry completely.(this is very important or the glue will not bind properly)

2. Apply a drop of nail glue to desired place on your nail and place the smooth side of the charm on to the glued area. Hold down for a few seconds for it to start to set (time will vary depending on the glue that is used)

3. Once fully dried, apply 1-2 coats of top coat to seal on the charm.

3. How to apply nail art foils

Nail Foil is simple to use and will make your nails look stunning! From plain and patterned foils to holographic foil designs that will create a more dramatic look, we have a range of over 40 foils to choose from so the selection and quality is fantastic!

1. Paint your nails with 1-2 coats of your chosen nail polish, ideally the polish colour would be one close to the colour of the foil design being used, this helps mask any inperfections that may occur.

2. Paint on a smooth thin and even layer of the foil adhesive to the area you wish to cover with nail foil, notic how the foil adhesive is a blue colour when applied.

3. Wait for the foil adhesive to go completely clear and tacky.

4. Place matt side of the nail foil over the area you have put foil adhesive on (foil must be shiny side up).

5. Rub the nail art foil firmly all over to release it from it from its backing, you must really make sure that you rub thoroughly use a cotton bud, tip of your finger or something similar to get into all the edges.

6. Once the design has been thoroughly smoothed over, quickly pull (snap) off the foil to reveal your finished design.

7. To seal your design, use 1-2 layers of nail art finishing sealer (finishing sealer does not have the wrinkling effect like allot of top coats, if you wish to use a top coat, make sure it is a basic slow drying top coat and not a quick dry top coat.

- Admire your fabulous foil nail art design.

5. Applying striping tape and laser strands

Adding beautiful lines always adds to a design, by using striping tape this can be achieved quickly and effectively, while adding fantastic colour and vibrancy to your nails. Using laser strands adds a unique touch to your nails too, as they add something a little different creating many different effects and also come in many colours.

1. Paint your nails with 1-2 coats of nail polish and allow drying time.

2. While your polish is still wet, cut off the required amount of striping tape for your design or select desired amount of laser strands. (Do not stretch tape as it will cause it to curl and lift, just let it lay flat)

3. Lay tape or strand across your nail, extending past the base of the nail onto the finger, then cut of any excess.

4. At the front edge cut just short of the free edge of your nail, this will stop it lifting and peeling.

5. Repeat until your design is complete.

8. Applying nail art water slide decals

One of the easiest and most effective ways to decorate your nails is by using nail art water decals, each vary slightly from brand to brand but the main concept is outlined below,

Water Decals

1. Paint your nails with 1-2 coats of your chosen nail polish and allow drying time.

2. From your decal sheet choose the design you wish to use and cut around it, get as close as you can to the design without cutting through the design.

3. Place your cut out water decal design into a dapen dish of water ideally with a pair of pointed or angled tweezers, leave for 10-20 seconds.

4. Take your water decal out of the water with your selected tweezers, the decal design should simply slide off the backing paper easily, if it does not, place the decal back into the water for a further 10 seconds.

5. When your decal is ready either dab the tip of your finger on to the design to lift it from the backing card and then place on your nail or slide directly on to your nail, you can then position the design where you wish once you are happy with the position dry off the nail buy using either nail wips or tissue, once dried this then allows the decal to stick in place.

6. Apply 1-2 coats of top coat, this will seal your design.

7. Put your hands out in front of you and admire your beautiful work. Water Decal packs include full instructions on the back.

Full Cover Water Decals

*Follow steps 1 to 5

6. Once you have completely dried off the decal on your nail, cut excess off allowing a little to hang over the tip of the nail.

7. Add a layer of top coat, after a few seconds the decal may crease slightly, if this happens use your cuticle pusher to gently pull the design flat again by touching the cuticle pusher on the tip of the decal and roll under the tip of the nail.

7. Put your hands out in front of you and admire your beautiful work. Water Decal packs include full instructions on the back.

9. Applying smART nail art stencils

When placing the sticker on an existing nail polish, make sure that it is totally dry.

1. Gently peel off one square shape from the supporting paper.

2. Stick it to the pillow of your finger (skin side) a couple of times in order to reduce the intensity of the glue, thus avoiding marks being left on the existing nail polish layer.

3. Place the shape in the desired angle and location on the nail. Make sure that it is flat and well stuck in all areas covering the nail.

4. Apply a moderate layer of contrasting nail polish on the area where the cut out shape is. Do not let it go over the borders of the sticker.

5. Peel off the sticker immediately after applying the nail polish. Do it slowly and carefully, not to twist the sticker and damage the shape

6. Replace sticker on backing sheet and clean with a small amount of nail varnish remover, so it is ready to use again.
